Four months ago, I was a 62-year-old overweight, out of shape and generally unmotivated women. I reached out to the owner, Stephanie Ward, of Train Strong Fit. I didn’t know what I was looking for as I’ve never had a Personal Trainer. We discussed what my limitations were (bad knees) and what my goals were.

Meet cathy...

Hi my name is Cathy and I am 63 years old. Normally I would not be giving out my age but, I feel it is necessary to show that it is never too late to start. I first started with Coach Steph at TSF two years ago with a challenge.

 

I was not very successful with that one. I, however, did not realize that your exercise and meals work hand and hand. As a result I had very little results. However, I found my home at TSF because of the way the workouts are planned.

The workouts are lead by the trainers with direction on how to do each exercise. We move from station to station, usually with a partner, and everyone has a great time. Everyone in the class is so supportive and we always have tons of fun. Fast forward to this last challenge, which I was determined to crush.

I not only lost 11 pounds but also inches all over my body. When I look at pictures of my before and after shots, I am amazed. I finally fell into a regular work out schedule and learned to meal prep my lunches which holds me accountable on my food intake. I also use the Kyani triangle of health pack which includes Sunrise, Sunset, and Nitrofx. I have noticed a big difference in using these products.

From my very first personal training session (post baby 2 in a body I was very unfamiliar with), Coach Steph's non-judgmental and positive approach made me feel completely at ease. My goal at the time was to be comfortable in my new body. Coach Steph tailored each workout to fit my needs and goals. After my first round of training with her I was once again comfortable in my body.

Fast forward 2 years, a ton of work travel, 20 plus pounds, and a hurting knee, part of me hesitated to return due to personal judgement/disappointment. Upon returning, her genuinely uplifting personality made it easy to get over myself and get back to work. There's never any judgement over where I am in the moment only focus on our end goal which is exactly what I need.

Okay, on to more really good stuff! What I love most, Coach Steph doesn't just guide me through exercises, she explains the form so I know what I should be paying attention to. Why work out and not do it to gain maximum benefit? With my knee she knew how best to strengthen it and adjusts exercises to protect it. Okay yes she is positive and encouraging but don't make the assumption of all rainbows and cushy clouds when it comes to fitness :). Coach Steph kicks my butt in the best possible way, pushing me to achieve more than I thought was possible. Her infectious positivity and unwavering belief in my potential are game changers for my fitness journey.
